:
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from FOXMD -- Fascinating look at remarkable individuals and their psychiatric backgrounds. : Wallace Mendelson M.D. has a talent for applying his background in psychiatry to his comprehensive knowledge of history. He has demonstrated this with his many previous books. In this book he looks at the troubled lives and peculiar behavior of a number of remarkable writers and artists. His goal here is to tell their stories and demonstrate similarities in their lives. This book includes Herman Melville, Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickinson, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Nikolai Gogol and Charles Darwin who were all born within a roughly 20 year period in the early 1800s. He also included Abraham Lincoln. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2021 )
